I Hate Social Media

As suggested by the title I hate social media, yes this does include blogs. So why in the world do I have one you may ask? Well I love computers and just about everything to do with them and I love to learn to do things with computers and like most everything I know about computers I have learnt by doing so here I am, doing.

About Me

I am one of those people who you would call a "Tech Guy" I live, sleep, eat, breath, (and several other adjectives) technology. From the time I could use a keyboard computers have been a part of my life. As a 10 year old boy I was fiddling around DOS while the majority of people didn't really know what a computer was. By 14 I knew my way around the inside of a computer and could practically assemble one blind folded. Around 16 years old I started learning a few different computer coding (HTML, Visual basics nothing too heavy) but didn't really like it that much.

Eventually I got married to my beautiful wife Shawna and had a son named Nickolas they are one of the few things that I love more than and can drag me away from my computers.

My profession in computers started with a job working as a technical support representative for Dell Computers. Currently I work for a company called DirectPointe. They are an outsourced IT company that provides and supports desktops, laptops, and servers for about 200 other companies around the US. I help to maintain the servers and computers for the users.

I currently have my A+ certification and am working on getting a few more. I use this blog for a few different reasons: First is to learn. Almost everything I know about computer I learned on my own. I've taken several classes in school and read several books but most of the information I had already learned just by messing around. Second is to hopefully provide some helpful information to mostly my family and anyone else who reads this. Third and lastly is to just vent and blab on about things that bug me or what ever.

About this Blog

What has happened to the Internet? It's not what it used to be when it first came out when we had AOL, Prodigy, Netscape, etc. but it's not all bad, in fact I find most of it is much better than it was! Google does a great job with almost everything it touches and tries to touch just about everything. But there is a darkness that looms, Social Media sites are popping up all over the place to see who will become the next My Space. The Internet version of Reality TV shows... I'm not all about negativity I'm one of those glass is half full kind of guys but I am fairly quite and don't say much, unless I have something to say and well I have lots of stuff to say about things that bug me.
